SJSU’S AANAPISI Course Release

(2015)

One-class course release from the AANAPISI grant (Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution) to help enrich the pedagogical techniques of the SJSU English Department. Research includes a study of lower-division Composition essay assignments.

2019-20: “Linking Up the Bay: Creating a Day of Sharing for Multimodal Resources.”

$4600 internal year-long grant with collaborators Robin Tremblay McGaw and Kristin Conard to attend ATXPO conference and winter day-long Bay Area multimodal discussion for university educators

 

2018-19: “LinkingOut: Sharing Digital Rhetoric and Multimodal Projects from SCU to the Jesuit Web”

“Creating A New CTW Theme: Tamed and Untamed California." 

$1,000 grant with SCU collaborator Matt Driscoll to attend a one-day workshop for selected West Coast educators on creating environmentally-themed curriculum for college classrooms. Grant included a follow-up lesson plan assignment and Faculty Collaborative Café talk at SCU.

“Aligning Advanced Writing & Social Justice Curriculum Across Engineering & English” 

$5000 collaborative grant between English/Engineering faculty members as well as Andrew Carlos, Head of Research, Outreach & Inclusion in the Library; and Ricardo Padilla, the Programs Director for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in STEM, to unify expectations and practices for “ENGL 181: Engineering Communications” so that it aligns with the existing writing curriculum in the School of Engineering, DEI aims in English and Engineering, and best practices in information literacy.
